Where to find aeonaxx in deepholm

In an earlier post, someone said their friends didn't get to roll on it. I want to test this theory, but do not want to risk losing the mount myself, nor do I wish to camp it again on an alt. So thoughts? Comment by Recently came up a new youtube video where we can see Aeonaxx Flying North west of the Temple of earth towards Needlerock Chasm..

The creator of the video didn't target Aeonaxx however, so I don't know if it was friendly or allready tagged when the video was made. Comment by mcomommy Question - I haven't tried the linking scripts before, so I'm not really sure how their supposed to show up. I've made a macro and copied exactly the script from a previous page. Is this a good sign for me that they haven't been cached yet?

Comment by Endsmouth Probably starting to go crazy after camping for so long, but I find the achievement for beating Aoesera odd. The name I mean. Probably just crazy ramblings, but thought it might be pertinent. I have been waiting out her for 6 days, almost 7 now. I was wondering if maybe you can drop by for about 5 minutes to have a cup of Greasy Whale Milk with me.

Like i said i know you are real busy with Mrs. Aeosera but im sure she will be fine for minutes it wont be that long of a ride i promise! Don't worry about me catching you with Xariona last Sunday, its all good. Bro's before ho's man. So ya i will be waiting outside the Stonecore in the basin sippin on some of that delicious milk. Oh and avoid any other passerbys, i think they are trying to kill you for some odd reason.

See you in a bit buddy! S - Forget what i said about the passerbys, dont just avoid them as they may be on fast mounts. It's cool if you just want a fast snack or maybe randomely headbutt them off of their mounts, they are quite annoying anyways i do not even know them. Actually just kill them all, it will be quicker and we won't ever have to see them again. Comment by I've been camping this beast for twelve hours consecutive now. I was wondering if I could get a little advice seeing how this is the first rare spawn camp i've ever done.

What is the range on NPCscan? Does it tell me in what direction the targeted mob is or do I have to manually fly around in circles looking? And btw, i give mad props to anyone with the patience to sit here for more than i have done. This is horrible and i should be doing other useless things.

But this mount has my fancy and he's going to be mine! Again, this is NOT mine. I found it a couple of comment pages back, but it is SO good! Comment by Crashh After going well upwards of 80 hours, with very minimal sleep, never actually logging off wow, 3 campers on me, and a server restart imminent in just a few hours, and to top it off, the apparent bugging out of the encounter last night, I've given up all hope.

As said, even time lost proto would be easier than this because at least you get some breaks. I might try transferring to a very low pop server and trying again after this restart. Makes me wonder if that could be a spawn point, hence the different heights people have seen it when it's circling the Temple Would make sense if this one had a similar pattern. Comment by Can people atleast level to 85 first?

It's been quite many now that tries at level 82 just to die and having him despawn Comment by 16 straight hours of hovering in this place totally alone. Horde shows up just a few min ago. Fantastic, still no signs of the mount.

Not as long as any of you but enough to know he's got one heck of a respawn timer. Counting on this pally getting bored before he spawns again. Comment by Aoratox Going into my 4th camping day now. Minimum sleep, minimum afk Put on a festive Xmas outfit Winter Garb , hoping that'll attract the attention of our shy dragon friend.

I fly towards the drake and realised it was tagged. When the dragon fell from the sky i saw the Alliance Paladin looting the reins he had officially only been looking for Aeonaxx for 2 hours before his kill Since i'm on a Horde:Alliance ratio the Horde campers by Quartzite Basin Where the dragon fell ganked the Ally and his guildie. So, an extremely lucky Ally got the drake. He got ganked. I wonder where the drake may have spawned.

I was camping at 42, 57 and there was a report in general chat that Aeonaxx was spotted 50 seconds before he actually flew by Quartzite Basin. So where might that be? Any ideas?

From Saturday to about Thursday, I was camping all day and night for this guy set up an alarm to wake up every 20 minutes or so to move my character to not afk-log out. Finally decided to do other things in the game during the day, but at night would still camp for this guy.

Tonight, I was too tired to wake up to my alarm, so was asleep from 4 am - 6 am, 2 whole hours. I used the macro to check the link all the time, the last time being around am. I log back in at 6 am. The link works. Now there is a server restart due in a few hours, which brings up the question does it reset his spawn timer or should I just wait another week to try again?

Again, guildmate killed this guy Friday night, and he was not killed again until last night, a whole week, and no one ever made any comments in Deepholm General about even attempting this guy. Comment by Jnxy I'm quite sure Aeonaxx spawn is triggered by something, since it's now been around 72 hours without a single spawn on my realm.

Assuming the link linkability tells us if it has been looted or not. Comment by Hi Guys, well i had to go to that christmas party i told ya. Guess who spawned then -. So 7 days to spawn 2 times. Ok then ill just sit another week here Comment by Killed him 20mins ago on Al'akir EU as a hunter 40 mins of raptor strike Sorry Dogtoy that you missed him its sucks that you were offline at that time You will get him mate dont give up!

Comment by Doesn't armory track when someone loots the mount? I checked a few players here who got it and can't find it on their recent activities. Comment by Ok, so I've stopped for today, because I've come up with a possible spawn trigger. I think, looking at the suggestion from a GM that you don't "miss" anything by completing the quest chain, and by looking at the spawn records that this spawn is directly related to the Daily quest - The Restless Brood It would explain why some people haven't seen it yet, and why the gm has said complete the quest chain so you don't miss anything I'm not going to camp it until i see "The restless brood" as a daily, note that apparently this quest requires revered with the faction.

If 1 out of every completions of the quest causes the spawn this could explain why some of us aren't seeing it at all, if only a couple of people are questing Comment by I think you guys are being way too far fetched that's what it's called, right? All those silly ideas of him teleporting from one path to another, that everyone could hear a roar in the zone when he spawned, etc, etc.

Maybe there is a catch, but maybe it's just possible he can have a VERY long respawn timer. Interesting to read about your thoughts, but I don't think it has anything to do with dailies. Someone could've found him far away from you and failed.

Even if the other faction on your realm is pretty much empty on players, there is a possibility someone on the 'other side' got it, and that's why you can't link the reins. As far as I know you need to check both sides to be completely sure. Have you tried both sides?

Comment by Ok, I have seen it spawn above the Quartzine Basin twice, so that is a confirmed spawn point. There could still be other spawns but none that I have seen. So it Aeonaxx is probably on about a 1. The fight took forever I just got out of a dungeon and was still in resto druid. The drakes that he spawns do not hit hard. At the moment there appears to be a glitch. You can dot him not facing him but to melee or cast at him or the drakes, you must hold the right mouse button and turn your character backward.

From there you can use the left button and make you camera forward to see the drakes then melee them while you face backward. Keep any dots on Aeonaxx that you can. You shouldnt need to ever heal if your in a tank or dps spec but I just took forever in resto. I just used insect swarm the entire time and it took about 15 minutes.

First time poster so I don't know what I'm missing. Also a comment on the daily spawn trigger. I have done the 3 dailys that are in that cave one time each. I did one day and it was a different day that I saw the drake. Im not sure if i have done the quest your talking about but this might help someone somewhere. Comment by been camping for 2 days above the quartzite basin.. Still no alert, still not able to link the drake.

Ive been two boxing with my other account in a different spot to not miss this dumb dragon. I'm in the same boat as everyone else, I just wish this dragon would spawn so I can go back to farming jp and honor : Little edit, the drake is no longer linkable.

So someone must have had it in their bags and just didnt use it yet before, when it was linkable yesterday. Comment by andree12 Aquai, your theory about the daily quests that makes Aeonaxx spawn just doesnt make sense for me I mean if you complete the daily quest, and there is a chance that Aeonaxx spawns I agree with Caen, It was exatcly like this when we were farming Time lost proto drake.

There were so many theorys about how Time lost could spawn. Example: the more people there are in Storm peaks the higher chance there is to Time lost spawn Dont remember the name of the daily Anyway I hope you see my point. If there were a chance that the daily triggers Aeonaxx to spawn then you should be the only one to see it or it would not be fair for you and honestly I dont think this is a way of blizzard to make it unique to get this mount I am not trolling I am just saying what I think, maybe you are right.

Sorry for my bad English.. I hope you still understand. It's impossible that anyone had done that quest yet. Comment by Third day straight of camping him, with around 4 hours of sleep. No Spawn yet, have another camper in communication when I go to bed, and no sign of a spawn since Sunday I believe.

Not having any luck finding any of the other rares, I have their ID's input, and nothing so far. The spawn timer has to either vary greatly, or triggered by something, don't think its on a set time.

I've also been looking for the other rare spawns; Jadefang, Xariosa, and Golgarok. I remember randomly passing Xariosa flying around the top of the temple before knowing about Aeonaxx, and I found Golgarok dead at realm time today.

I haven't looked that much into the dragon's flight path but after vaguely looking I've gathered that camping the basin is the best idea. Considering Golgarok was recently killed I'm going to sit just in range for where Aeonaxx spawns above Stonecore and the white mineral patches on the floor. I'll try to keep up to date on my searches for the other rares as well as for Aeonaxx also, if I do end up finding I'll be sure to update the post with a rough aggro flight path as well as where I was standing and to where I mounted her from.

Comment by Imatree I'm officially very pissed off right now. Recently, there has been a Goblin DK camping near me. Normally, it pissed me off to an excess, just sitting next to me. Now, he's taken up spamming, flying circles around me, and generally just drawing more attention to my camping area.

I realize that this doesn't have a lot of good information, but please. You never know how long the other person has been there for. I'm still very tired, and that's my QQ for the day. Comment by Jnxy Aeonaxx down after 80 hours of wating. Spawned realm time on Earthen Ring EU. Frapsed the whole thing. I will post later on with more info. My heart is racing atm.

Comment by His name seems to reference all of the AoE used when clearing Naxx. Comment by dexterslab Hi, I am an alliance hunter from madoran. I have been camping this drake since the day after launch. If you are the horde shadow priest that has been sitting in my camping spot with your anti-afk bot since 3 days ago Comment by There are so many crazy theories floating around some which don't even make sense :P.

Maybe he doesn't have a set spawn timer of "two days, three days" whatever. I personally believe that his spawn is a completely random occurance. For example, suppose you have a deck of cards from Every minute, you draw a card hoping that it's card number In Aeonaxx's case, if card number is drawn, he will spawn.

This theory agrees with the reason why some people report once a week, while others have seen him twice in a day. It spawned smack dab in the middle of quartzite after I ragequit from a dungeon and ported back there. Right in Quartzite Basin. Thanks for all the info here I probably wouldn't have been able to kill it without reading other horror stories of the fight.

Sorry I didn't get a spawn screenshot, was a bit too excited that I finally saw it. If I see it on an alt or something again I'll definitely follow it and try to get more info for you guys. The fight really is messed up though, keyboard turning FTW. Also: I do have deep into deepholm and no today wasn't my first day camping.

I've missed at least two spawns that I know of before today. Total time spent on this camp is well over hours. I've been doing this about hours a day for the past week, yet there has been no sign of Aeonaxx. I have seen Jadefang three times, killed him twice, tamed him once There has been no sign of any other rarespawns. Comment by if it has respawned 26 hours on the dot.. Comment by Crazytrain Ok, time for another theory. I know for a fact that our server Skywall US hasn't had the daily quest to get you up to the ledge where Jadefang is at since Cata release.

I only found out about Jadefang about 4 days ago, so he might have been up the entire time before then, hence the lack of an Aeo spawn. I've had to lag into the cave and kill Jade whenever I see him up just in case he really does share a spawn timer.

Nothing yet, but here's hoping for the best. I'm really just grabbing straws, but hey, over a week of non-stop camping will do that to ya. I'm curious now. Comment by Vaugn Question. I've been camping this fellow off and on for days missed him by 10 seconds once. Personal feelings aside that an 82 should level to 85 before camping , could an 82 realistically beat Aeonaxx?

And how about an 82 warrior specifically? Comment by I highly doubt Jadefang has anything to do with Aeonaxx or any other rare in that area. Working with the theory that has been around since TLPD or before? If you don't have the daily up and Jadefang has spawned, then there wouldn't be any rare kills that day, because no one could kill her to trigger the spawn of another mob, or to allow the chance of a new rare spawning after the spawn timer procs.

I'd be more willing to believe that Jadefang shares nothing with any of the other rare mobs. Comment by AssurHeX umad? Day time you would most likely lose it to some Joe anyway :P. This could end up being very misleading. Comment by This was said before but, please don't park your mount up the ass of someone else. Comment by ok first things first.

Went and mounted him, i do believe he bugged out cause when his whelps spawned they did not attack me. Comment by So i have been camping this drake for about 3 days off and on. Comment by Aoratox Here's a thought; What if he despawns regardless of being tagged and failed? Say he spawns in QB, flies around for 15mins and then despawns? In my days camping, I've been gone to catch some sleep, attend my father's birthday, do my dailies etc etc One fellow camper that's been there nearly all the time, has been afk and logged out a couple of times as well.

If and when Aeonaxx spawns without the hardcore campers around, he could just be flying there and go around unnoticed, because not everybody knows WHAT he is and all they see is just a friendly drake flap by. What do you think? Comment by Wowplayer29 I think it is possible, yes. I thought about that too.

Why not? Comment by drothar For those of you who don't know, NPCScan will not alert you with a sound if you have WoW minimized even if you enable sound in background.

If you enable sound in background, it will still alert you if you have another window in front of WoW, but it's not minimized. I assumed minimized was the same as backgrounded, and it lost me my drake. Going on somewhere upwards of hours, the hunt continues. Comment by Granted it is my best guess, as i did not see it spawn. But with flight speed that trip out was less than 50 secs.

Coming back npc would have went off. Because: There was an earlier post that shows him headed north from the basin, he's low and at a slow speed. Then he makes a lefted handed turn and doubles back and heads south. If that was the case then he would have met me coming north. Npcscan went off when i was even with the northern edge of the Temple of Earth.

Or it could be that he came from the basin and headed up high and southward. My main spot though was right there between the goblin and basin up stonecore level. Comment by here it is sunday 5days after maintenance..

Comment by Well, its official. TLPD has been around for over a year. Aeonaxx first appeared 12 days ago. Comment by Illuvattarr Been camping this thing for about 3 days now.

Mostly sitting outside stonecore entrance on the flying rock. No sight of him and the reins haven't been linkable at all. So that must mean no one has seen the item since last server restart, which I know took place in the night between last wednesday and thursday. Today is sunday so that means no one looted the reins in 4 days.

Respawn rate must be ridiculous for this drake. Comment by Jnxy He just spawned mid air. Comment by okay guys heres my pics of me after i chased that guy down and he downed that dragon in like one minute flat Comment by Chlorure It's insane the amount of people asking for the stonecore entrance everyday! That was my "i am bored and I need to talk" moment. Comment by djp This isn't really new information but a shared spawn timer with Jadefang to me makes a lot of sense.

Yesterday was the daily that allows for easy killing of Jadefang too which seems interesting, because that daily wasn't there for the last 4, and Aeonaxx has not spawned over the last 4.

I think that this would make sense since some servers have gotten him a lot while others have not, from now on i think it may be useful for people to post if the Jadefang daily is up on the day that Aeonaxx spawned on the server. This way we could at least see if there is a trend. Comment by Madoran1 Sooo.

I was sitting about Stonecore height, right of the spinning rock and I went to use the bathroom. I come back and NPC scan had found Aeonaxx and he was gone.

This isn't really any useful info other then that he spawns there which was already known. Edit: Server was Alterac Mountains, not Madoran. Also, the reins are still unlinkable. I asked around in general and no one seemed to know what Aeonaxx was. I didn't inform them either. So either someone jumped on and failed OR it despawned. I wasn't away from my computer very long, bathroom and stopped to watch a min of the eagles game in another room and came back. So either someone failed or it flys it's set route and then despawns fairly quickly.

Comment by I keep hearing people say that it is "unlikely" that Jadefang and Aeonaxx share a spawn because Aeonaxx was up when the first people made it into Deepholm on SOME servers. I don't understand this logic. If these two rares share a spawn it doesn't mean Aeonaxx can only be killed after Jadefang is killed. It means that when EITHER Jadefang OR Aeonaxx is killed something happens to determine which one spawns next for example a roll of and if it is between 1 and 5 Aeonaxx spawns, between 6 and Jadefang spawns , then the spawn time is determined probably a roll between 2 set values that are different for each rare , then spawn location is chosen probably a roll also Soooo if Aeonaxx was up on some servers first Having obtained the Time-Lost on 5 characters over a 2 month period I am VERY confident that the above is a fair model of how the system works.

AND those of you that are frustrated because you have seen NO rares for a long period of time, have hope. When I camped the Time Lost and an abnormally long time went by after a Vyr kill with nothing happening, Comment by Ozlem Guys, even maybe 84 is too low to tackle this regardless of gear. You will run the risk of despawning Aeonaxx. At 85 it's cake. Aeonaxx turns into a golden elite boss and you will be pwned by his mates as they hit like trucks.

Before the wowhead clean up there was pages of posts on here regarding fail attempts from eager players who tried it on a toon lower than If you are the first to mount Aeonaxx, a message will appear which says "Kill Aeonaxx before his whelps overwhelm you. During the fight Young Stone Drakes will spawn which have 7, hitpoints. You will need to kill these immediately so you can go back to focusing on killing Aeonaxx. Aeonaxx himself does no damage.

All damage from the fight comes from these easy to kill drakes. Once you kill Aeonaxx, both you and Aeonaxx fall to the ground. You are supplied with a parachute automatically. Once landing you can loot the body for the mount. Aeonaxx can die anywhere on it's path around Deepholm, based entirely on when you are able to kill it, so if you're low on hitpoints it may be advisable to time it's death so it falls in an area that doesn't have a bunch of mobs to land in.

The popular strategy seems to be for everyone in the world who's camping this to stack all over each other in Quartzite Basin. However, stacking of any kind is highly illogical and counter productive, not to mention highly rude for the person who was there first who gets stacked on. All six spawn locations, when mounted, exit from the inner circle at the northwest.

There has never been variation found in this, so logical best case placement would put you close to NW1. However, the best spot is always the spot uncamped. If you go to an area and see 2 or more people and still park, not only is it rude but it's a further waste of other people's times and most likely your time.

Keep in mind Blood Seeker has a horribly small visual range. Aeonaxx shares a spawn timer with Blood Seeker , a level 15 bat from the pre-Cataclysm Shadowfang Keep , which has been observed to be roughly 6 to 22 hours.

Early videos of players encountering Aeonaxx were on the west side of the Temple of the Earth where he has more spawn points, but eastern locations have also been confirmed.

Each spawn will be random between the six points. Once spawned, Aeonaxx or Blood Seeker will fly in a small circle around the spawn location. Blood Seeker will automatically despawn after six minutes, whether alive or killed. Phasing does not affect a player's ability to see Aeonaxx, though it may keep one from seeing nearby players in other phases.

Once a player mounts Aeonaxx, that player is visible in all phases. Upon spawning, Aeonaxx is friendly and appears to be mountable as a vehicle with a green mouseover arrow. Once a player mounts Aeonaxx, he becomes hostile and other players will not be able to mount. After mounting, the player will receive an announcement: "Kill Aeonaxx before his whelps overwhelm you.

They seem to help a lot of people. CRZ, phasing sharding whatever, I was pet hunting and no pets were spawning where they were supposed to be, after 2 days off checking back and such I finally looked for a group in the zone and joined it and low and behold there were tons of them all over.

Are you staying at one spawn point? It took me about 3 days before I got mine and I almost missed him as he spawned at another point and my NPC scan picked him up as I was on my way back to Org Portal for the night.

Now instead of a rare being kilied on just your server and also being able to be caught on every other other serer, now if you kill it one time, it counts as being tagged over times.
