After finally killing him, skin his corpse to appease Hircine. The hide is useful but not the true prize of this quest. The preferable choice is to choose to aid Sinding. He will thank you for your compassion and head onwards, travel with him through the grotto, killing the other hunters an easy feat considering the sheer strength Sinding possesses.
After defeating the final one, talk with Sinding. He will thank you once more before you leave the grotto. Upon emerging outside, Hircine will be awaiting you. Whether you claim to have failed or admit to defying his will, Hircine will claim he is pleased with the outcome and remove the curse from the Ring of Hircine, leaving it with you before he departs.
The Ring of Hircine grants an unlimited amount of transformations for werewolf characters without the need to wait for the form to recharge.
After transforming, remove the ring and re-equip it to gain another transformation whenever desired. I also had the ring favorited and un-favorited it before dropping, don't know if that'll make a difference but I'm trying to be as thourough as possible. I just want to say thank you to all of you I just did the dang mssion and was about to load and do it all again so luckly I went to here so I just want to say thank you thanks guys.
Quote: Ah, also, I forgot to say, when your transformation wears off you are completely naked, so the ring is also off. You have to put the ring on again, and then you'll be able to use the Ring of Hircine under Powers. You can be a werewolf and a vamire lord at the same time and you don't have to feed as a vamprie and you keep all of the perks. And the ring wont work, but i'll try ur suggestion. Throwing the ring and unfavoriting it first worked for me Explore Wikis Community Central.

The Dragonborn is given the option to take ownership of the Ring of Hircine and be cursed, with the intention of returning it to Sinding's master. This ring does not bestow the power of transformation at will, which is obtained only through the Companions questline, begun in Jorrvaskr in Whiterun.
To keep the cursed variant, the unequipped cursed ring can be given to a follower before completing the quest. The "uncursed" ring is granted to the Dragonborn by Hircine; who removes the curse, at the end of the quest "Ill Met by Moonlight.
Alternatively, both the ring and hide can be obtained by helping Sinding kill the hunters , leaving the grotto and speaking with Hircine to receive the ring, then returning to kill and skin him for the Savior's Hide.
Hircine will appear after killing and skinning Sinding to award the Savior's Hide. Equipping this ring grants werewolves unlimited transformations. Upon use of the ring's power, the Dragonborn will assume their Beast Form, and after the bloodthirst has depleted, will transform back to their original form. The Dragonborn can then simply re-equip the ring and re-use the power to transform into a werewolf again. Equipping the uncursed "Ring of Hircine" will cause a power of the same name to appear in the Powers section of the Magic tab, activated in the same way as any other power.
I had saved Sinding and then killed him, hoping he would bite me and I would become infected. But now that I know, killing him wasn't a complete waste of time. That's not right at all. When you are a werewolf you can normally transform once a day. The ring is supposed to make it so you can transform into a werewolf without being turned first off and second at any time, for as many times, though it sounds by him that it worked because he can transform once a day.
